About us
The Institute of Pathogen Biology is responsible for teaching human parasitology and medical microbiology. There are 4 professors (including 1 chair professor), 3 associate professors and 4 assistant professors in our institute; among them, 9 people have doctor's degree, another 2 people have master's degree. One professor is awarded as 'Changjiang Scholar' by Ministry of Education. One people is selected to the New Century Talent support Program of Ministry of Education. There are 3 doctoral supervisors and 7 master's supervisors. Eight people have overseas refresher study experience.
 
Undergraduate teaching: The Institute of pathogen biology undertake the responsibility of the teaching work of human parasitology and medical microbiology for all medical related specialties in the clinical, medical laboratory technology, anaesthesia, imaging, nursing, stomatology, preventive medicine, health management and pharmacy, and clinical parasitology and clinical microbiology for medical laboratory technology.

In the last 10 years, one ¡°863 projects¡± , two subprojects of ¡°973 projects¡±, three ¡°Major National Science and Technology projects¡± , five NSFC and four projects of ¡°Gansu provincial science and technology department¡± have been completed. More than 100 scientific research papers have been published, including more than 30 SCI papers and 5 invention patents.
 
Discipline development: In November 1981, the Department of pathogen biology obtained the right of master's granting authorized by the State Council firstly. There are 7 master's supervisors and 3 doctoral supervisors.
 
Academic exchanges and cooperation:
The Institute has actively carried out various academic exchanges in various ways. Eight people have studied and communicated in key universities or research institutes in developed countries.
Cooperation with Institutes at foreign countries: Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yamagata University of Japan, University of Liverpool and so on.
Domestic cooperation partners: Fudan University, Third Military Medical University, Wuhan virus Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Lanzhou Institute of biological products, Gansu provincial center for disease control and prevention, Pulmonary hospital of Lanzhou and so on.
